2026 SUPRAD Oldtimers

Annual Reunion Weekend Recap

June 24, 2026

The 32nd SUPRAD Oldtimers Reunion was an outstanding weekend, thoroughly enjoyed by so many. Meeting up with old friends, making new ones, and sharing stories from years past brought plenty of laughter, friendship, and camaraderie back to CFS Leitrim.

“Friends Forever” is our Association motto for a reason. ❤️

Many thanks to everyone who travelled from near and far to keep our trade camaraderie alive.

I would like to extend a special thank you to executive committee members Butch Whitlaw, Dave Berry, Scott McLean, Bill Neelin, Rob Dunbar, and Larry Cadman for helping organize the many components of the reunion and for volunteering their time throughout the entire event.

Thursday 18 June – Memorial Golf Tournament

The reunion kicked off with our Memorial Golf Tournament at Meadows Golf Club. A special thank you to Pepsi St-Marseille for organizing the event and for not cancelling despite the weather forecast.

We started the day with plenty of rain, but because it was a tournament dedicated to honouring those no longer with us, the weather quickly changed (with a little help from a few angels above) into a beautiful day for golf.

Seeing old friends reunited made the first day a huge success.

Friday 19 June – Meet & Greet

Friday’s Meet & Greet featured pizza, refreshments, and plenty of laughs and stories.

Thank you to Larry Cadman and Dave Berry for welcoming members at the entrance and handling the raffle and 50/50 sales.

The raffle featured a beautiful quilt donated by Bruno Cote, won by Jim McMullin, who generously gifted it to Orlene Whitlaw, much to her delight. The raffle raised $330.

The 50/50 winners were JP Roy and Al Ferrie, who each took home $185.

Saturday 20 June – Founders Classic

Saturday featured our Founders Classic – Wimp Moore Edition Tournament at Raceview Golf Course.

We enjoyed another day of great weather while golfing and honouring the memory of our SupRad Oldtimers Association founder Wayne Moore.

Thank you to Larry Cadman for taking the first hole group photographs.

Saturday 20 June – Founders Banquet

That evening, members gathered for our Reunion Banquet featuring an excellent buffet prepared by Peter’s Kitchen and Catering.

The menu included salad, roasted potatoes, mixed vegetables, rice pilaf, shrimp creole, roast beef with gravy, buns, assorted desserts, coffee, and tea. Everyone left with a full stomach and high praise for the meal.

Two additional quilts donated by Bruno Cote and a beautiful river photograph donated by Phil Colwill were raffled off, raising another $250. The evening’s 50/50 winners were Brian Kebic and Mike Christie, each taking home $130.

Thank you to Joyce Berry and Clint Briscoe for greeting members and selling tickets.

We also announced our golf tournament winners, with the reigning champions successfully defending their title: Karen Stacey, Larry Cadman, Bill Laidlaw, and Frank Sullivan.

Special golf awards were presented to:

  • Longest Drive: Alain “Polo” Vegiard
  • Closest to the Pin: Terry Parsons
  • Shortest Drive: Karen Stacey (not my best day)

A large number of door prizes were then distributed. Thank you to everyone who generously donated items and helped create an impressive prize table for our members to enjoy.

The evening concluded with even more stories, laughter, and reminiscing among friends.

Sunday 21 June – Service of Remembrance

Our reunion concluded with the annual Service of Remembrance.

Shortly after the SUPRAD flag was raised at the Gloucester Cairn, rain began to fall and the service was moved indoors to the Greely Legion.

Scott McLean served as Master of Ceremonies and led a meaningful service. The names of members and friends from our community who passed away over the past year were read by Rob Dunbar.

Padre Yves Lesieur offered reflections and prayers. We were honoured once again to have Piper John Virag and Bugler Charles Armstrong of the RCMP Pipes & Drums perform the Lament, Last Post, and Rouse.

Following the service, members gathered for a delicious brunch prepared by the staff of the Greely Legion. Thank you to Lynda Wyman and her team for their excellent hospitality.

Thank you all for making this such a memorable weekend.

I was deeply touched by the many kind words, handshakes, and hugs received throughout the reunion. Events of this size do not happen without a dedicated team of volunteers working together, and I am grateful to everyone who contributed to its success.

Until we meet again!

“Friends Forever.”
