“In loving memory of Dianne May Baker, wife of Tony Baker, we are saddened to announce her passing on 2 August, 2026”. Dianne Baker, 81 of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Sackville, NB she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Emerise (Richard) Cormier.

Aug 18th, 1954 – June 29th, 2026
Jacqueline Ester Mary Nelson, beloved wife of Murray Nelson of Honeymoon Bay, BC, passed away at the Cowichan Hospice on June 30, 2026, at the age of 71 years. She was the loving mother to sons: Bradley (Melanie) and Ryan, and the proud grandmother to Lauren.
Jacquie will be lovingly remembered by her sisters: Dianne Turski, Gail (Todd) Verhaeghe, Linda Toews, Jean (Larry) Campbell, Darlene (Gilbert) Hogue, Giselle Blais, Carol Bonne, and Dolores (Darrell) Dyck; brothers: Stephen (Shirley) Grouette and Victor (Helen) Grouette; sister-in-laws Carol (Rob) Bloomfield, Diane, Marie, Kimberly, and Corrina Grouette, and Annette Connelly; alongside numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Jeffrey John and Irene Grouette; brothers Gary, Kenny, and Richard; brothers-in-law: Victor Turski, Don Bonne, Louis Blais, and Fred Shannon; nephews Trevor Turski and Michael Blais; mother-in-law Gwen Goodman, and brother-in-law Donald Nelson.
Growing up in Winnipeg, Jacquie met Murray on a Friday night at the Pembina Hwy Pancake House where she worked. A chance motorcycle ride home orchestrated by a sister’s boyfriend sparked a beautiful relationship that lasted 56 years. Marrying the love of her life at age 19, Jacquie embraced military life, moving to Masset on Haida Gwaii, Bermuda, Ottawa, and Gander before settling in Honeymoon Bay. She dedicated 24 years of service to the Vancouver Island Health Authority, retiring in 2016.
Though she loved crafts and travel, her greatest joy was watching her granddaughter Lauren grow into a wonderful woman. “Grandmas are just antique little girls.“
Deepest thanks to the dedicated medical teams and the exceptional staff at Cowichan Hospice at Cairnsmore. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or your local Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund.
